Making Ocarinas at Cobb and Co Museum's Have a Go Festival in Toowoomba

The ocarina is an ancient musical wind instrument. dating back 12000 years —a type of vessel flute. Variations exist, but a typical ocarina is an enclosed space with four to twelve finger holes and a mouthpiece that projects from the body. It is traditionally made from clay or ceramic, but other materials are also used—such as plastic, wood, glass, metal, or bone. An example of an ocarina made of an animal horn is the medieval German gemshorn.

Participants at Toowoomba's Cobb'n Co Museum's Have a Go Festival had an opportunity to create their own musical ocarinas from clay. 40 instruments were made over 2 days at what was an incredible event and great thanks go to the Cobb;n Co Museum for getting Wahoo involved.
