Instrument making at Cobb and Co Museum

Cajons, South American Box drums and Electric Ukuleles were made in the workshop at Cobb and Co Museum over the last few days.

On Thursday at the Teen workshop Participants were guided through the construction and playing of a quality percussion instrument and took home a hand made instrument and new skill to master.

On Saturday and Sunday Ukuleles were made from raw materials and we measured, sawed, drilled, screwed, nailed, wired, tuned and played our way through the weekend to complete electric ukuleles with pickup and preamps. We had the full range of woodworking skills and experience, with a perfect blend of patience and persistence to continue working and learning. The 2 days allowed steady progress to completion on the Sunday and all finished instruments were very well completed, quality musical instruments.
